Hoch am Berg

Orientation

Lynxes have good eyesight, good hearing and a keen sense of smell, and they have an excellent sense of direction.

To ensure you don’t get lost, the Luchs Trail follows existing signposted footpaths and is additionally signposted. The Luchs Trail logo is usually displayed as an additional sign measuring 10 x 13 cm on the existing hiking trail markings. The direction arrows always point towards Lunz am See. Sometimes, a sticker featuring the Luchs Trail logo is simply affixed to existing signs.

Important: you’ll be out and about in alpine terrain, where natural phenomena (such as storms) can temporarily disrupt the signposting. Therefore, never set off without a walking map. Digital maps are a good addition, but you’ll need to download them onto your mobile, as mobile coverage isn’t always available on the Luchs Trail (digital detox). Recommendation: outdooractive.com

Recommendation for souvenir photos

At the stage locations, you’ll find stainless steel signs. The starting sign is in the centre of Reichraming (see photo). The finishing sign is located right next to the Ötscher-Basis Nature Park Centre.
