Luchs Norik

On 11 December 2022, the lynx Norik was released into the Kalkalpen National Park. The one-and-a-half-year-old male is expected to help solve the breeding problem within our lynx population by replacing Lakota, the lynx who is currently dominant but unable to reproduce. We hope that he settles in quickly and sires offspring during the mating season next year in February and March.

Shortly after midnight, he was released into the winter night by National Park Director Volkhard Maier and Ranger Hermann Jansensberger.

All the best, Norik!
